"When I was broke and living in Stockton and throwing hay for a living, I'd imagine what it would be like to be famous," he says. "But it's nothing special - you're going to walk down the same street, with the same sun on your face, and in the end we're all going to be

"I take a lot of pride in songwriting, but maybe I'm not John Lennon," he admits.

"But whatever ability I have, I'm real proud that I never miss shows. I'm happy with my work ethic. You buy a ticket to my show, I show up on time, I'm sober, I'm dressed and I'm really going to give it my best shot."
